COVID-19 Update to Friends of Cary Players

Dear Friends of Cary Players,

With the rapid onset of COVID-19 in our community, and with recent announcements from the Town of Cary and state government officials, we wanted to update you on the latest concerning our plans for upcoming performances.

We are an optimistic organization, and as such we are currently still planning to perform our next production, Shrek The Musical, April 24th through May 3rd. Our cast and crew are still working hard to bring this delightful show to the stage, and we hope to be able to do so. As this is a rapidly developing situation and a lot can change in the next few weeks, there are a couple of things you should know:

  • We are in direct and frequent communication with the Town of Cary to stay informed and respond quickly to any new guidelines. Despite the Town of Cary’s recent announcement to close the Cary Arts Center until further notice, we and the CAC staff remain hopeful for our April 24th opening night. We will continue following their guidance regarding how to proceed, and will relay any changes regarding this show to you as soon as possible.
  • We are modifying our ticket refund policy for Shrek The Musical. Should the show not be performed as scheduled, patrons will have the option to receive a full refund or hold on to their tickets until the show is performed. In addition, should personal circumstances prevent any of our patrons from attending the show, full refunds will also be granted. We want our patrons to have the flexibility to join hundreds of other Cary citizens in getting their tickets now for this popular show and deciding later if they wish to attend. Any refunds requested will be extended on a no-questions-asked basis.

Whether we open on April 24th, as we are currently planning to do, or at some future date, we’ll plan on making you smile one way or another. We suspect the world could use a few more smiles these days.
