Thanks to the talented efforts of the cast and crew of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and the overwhelming support from the Cary Players patrons who came to see the show, the Cary Players Board of Directors delivered a check for $2,000 to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. According to the Food Bank, this will allow them to provide 10,000 meals. Thank you for helping to make this holiday season a little brighter for families in need in North Carolina.
Cary Players had pledged to donate $1 to the Food Bank for each ticket sold to its December production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Originally, the board had estimated this would result in about a $1,000 donation, but the overwhelming popularity of the show drove show attendance up to become the second best-selling show in Cary Players 15-year history, with more the 1,800 tickets sold. Donations collected in the lobby of the show and a few extra dollars thrown in by the board rounded the total up to an even $2,000. The donation helps Cary Players fulfill one of its Core Values, which is to “Uplift the Community.” For more information about the Food Bank, visit www.foodbankcenc.org.
